Having practiced Family Law exclusively for more than 35 years, Stephanie Frangos Hagan is skilled at handling highly complex financial matters involving high income wage earners as well as the valuing of complex business interests. Stephanie regularly handles contentious custody matters. With the shortage of family judges in NJ, Stephanie has turned to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) to support the needs of her clients.
“Mediation and arbitration are two of the most popular ways to resolve matters through ADR,” remarks Stephanie. “By providing perspective and guidance of a neutral third party, I am able to help families find a solution that avoids costly, drawn-out litigation.” Stephanie is certified by the AAML as a Family Law Arbitrator and has been a Court approved Family Law Mediator since 2001. She recently arbitrated a highly complex family law matter to conclusion which included the valuation and distribution of multiple pieces of commercial and residential real estate, as well as the valuation and distribution of two highly complex business interests.
In addition, Stephanie is an experienced Parent Coordinator, a child-focused ADR process. With Stephanie’s mediation training and experience, she is appointed as a Parent Coordinator to assist high conflict parents to effectively implement and manage their parenting plan.
As a former Chair of the Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association and a past president of the Morris County Bar Association, Stephanie is a frequent lecturer, moderator, and panelist, of programs addressing a variety of family law topics including Alimony, Child Support, Equitable Distribution, Custody, Parenting Time, LGBT issues, distribution of partnership and business interests, Cohabitation, Relocation, Palimony, and other important family law issues.
